Popular Indian dancers to perform in Hanoi
Travel NewsCulture guidesGeneral guidesTourist attractions

India’s famous dance troupe Odissi will perform in Hanoi on June 4 during their visit to Vietnam to attend the Hue Festival 2010.

The Indian artists will devote six dances to Vietnamese audience, namely Shiv Tandava-Jata Tabi, Abhinaya-Patha Chhari de mu jibi, Waves, Dashavatar, Mokshya and Basanti Bhubano Mohini.

Odissi dance is one of the eight classical dance forms of India . It is particularly distinguished from others by the importance it places upon the tribhangi (or three parts break), the independent movement of head, chest and pelvis and upon the basic square stance known as chauka.
