Bac Ninh people organise the dove-releasing festival in the fourth month of the lunar year. The recent festival in Yen Phong district attracted hundreds of dove breeders.

According to custom of hundreds of years in Bac Ninh, the neighbouring province of Hanoi, villagers of the village where the festival is organised are only allowed to work as jury members, not competitors at the contest. 

Though the prizes are mundane, such as electric fans, aluminum pots, or thermos, the event attracted hundreds of contestants.
